R&D is integral to KSNR's view of its long-term growth and sustainability. KSNR is committed to using scientific methods to effect innovations throughout the agri-supply chain.
Leveraging the strengths of one of the most renowned research institutions in the world, the National University of Singapore (NUS), we have partnered with the Minerals, Metals & Materials Technology Centre, Faculty of Engineering, NUS for our R&D needs. Some of the finest brains in the scientific community working in the state-of-the-art laboratories of NUS undertake research on key focus areas identified by KSNR.
KSNR is working with few of the best local consultants and a team of scientists in Indonesia who have on the field experience. All pre-acquisition feasibility studies are done by reputed local agronomists and consultants.
Their work incorporates the following key areas:
Plantation
- Mineral soil testing for land acquisitions and agricultural growth particular to each crop
- Testing seeds and farming methods to improve yields
- Providing assistance with sustainable farming practices, such as minimising fertilizer use and rainwater harvesting
- Identifying opportunities for environmental safeguards, carbon footprint reduction, ecological balance, use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency

- Providing continuous education in various relevant disciplines to KSNR Group employees
- Developing technical manpower capability and strength within the company
Manufacturing
- Carrying out process improvements for energy savings in the manufacturing plants by utilizing the centre's developed mathematical modelling capabilities
- Developing new products and better quality by-products
- Developing new technology that uses alternate energy resources, reduces emission levels and brings about other engineering improvements in manufacturing plants
- Carrying out technical support and due diligence activities during acquisition of new business entities in South East Asia
- Identifying incubation opportunities hidden in the global financial crisis
